Le pas de rayure, c'est la distance que met le projectile dans le canon pour faire un tour.

Suivant les calibres, les pas sont différents, mais dans un même calibre on peut également avoir des pas différents selon que l'on veuille stabiliser des projectiles plus ou moins lourds (plus ou moins longs).

Quelques exemples de pas en fonction des marques et calibres :
